Dave Faulkner is a financial industry veteran with a career spanning over four decades. Starting as a life insurance advisor in 1979, Dave successfully transitioned from providing direct financial advice to developing essential software tools for the industry. He has worked with many of Canada’s largest wealth management firms, banks, insurance companies, and managing general agencies.

A serial entrepreneur, Dave co-founded two successful fintech startups prior to his current venture. He created Financial Plan Solutions (FPS), which was acquired in 2000 by Wolters Kluwer (CCH), a global leader in tax and compliance tools. His second startup, Razor Logic Systems (RazorPlan), was acquired in 2019 by Nest Wealth Asset Management, then Canada’s largest independent digital wealth management platform.

In 2023, Dave pivoted to the intersection of finance and Artificial Intelligence (AI). His research focused on how AI could scale advice by understanding a client’s Values, Intentions, Behaviors, and Experience with money. With this insight, he launched VibePlan in April 2024, Canada’s first AI-native financial planning and engagement platform.

Uniquely, Dave has maintained his own financial planning practice, FP Advisors Inc., throughout his entrepreneurial journey. He recently expanded his activity as a financial advisor, utilizing VibePlan to deliver the same AI-enhanced, values-based advice to his own clients that he advocates for the industry.

Dave holds the CLU and CFP designations. He is a strong advocate for professional standards, the ethical use of AI in personal finance, and the enduring value dedicated financial professionals bring to their clients.
